Today, on March 8th, in celebration of International Women’s Day, we are launching our new ‘Women of Volue’ series to honour the remarkable women who help Volue power those who power the world.

Over the coming months, we will spotlight colleagues from across the company, at all stages of their careers, as they share their stories, experiences and insights into what it is really like to work in the energy sector. From the opportunities they’ve embraced to the challenges they’ve navigated, each profile will highlight the talent, ambition and curiosity that’s helping to shape Volue’s future.
We begin our series in Munich, with 22-year-old working student Nisa Bonazzi. Nisa shares her background, her journey so far at Volue, and the lessons she continues to learn along the way.
She takes up the story below.
Multilingual and Motivated
I’ve always been passionate about languages. I speak German, English, French and Turkish, and that mix has shaped my curiosity about people, communication and the world of work. I’m currently studying sociology and law at university, while also exploring what I’ll do next as part of my master’s degree. Communication feels like a natural complement to sociology, but I’m also drawn to social psychology. Who knows what the future holds? For now, I’m focused on finishing my course and building up my experience in our Munich office.
At Volue, I work around 20 hours a week as a working student, and I’m genuinely grateful for the flexibility that this provides. Typically, I work from home twice a week and come into the office once or twice, depending on what’s happening. It’s the perfect balance: manageable alongside my studies, but still very connected to the team.
My Role in Focus
My week usually starts with checking emails and catching up on anything that happened while I
was away. After that, I organise my priorities: what’s urgent, what can wait, and where I can best support my colleagues. Collaboration is important to me, so I always touch base with our People team to ask whether anything needs immediate attention.
In Germany, my role involves preparing documents, creating offers for new hires, and ensuring everything is entered accurately into our HR system.
I also help to source suitable candidates, coordinate interviews and manage schedules with our hiring managers. Recently, I also supported the preparation of sales letters. At first, the process felt quite complex — full of numbers and details that didn’t make sense yet. But with patient guidance from colleagues, I eventually understood it fully and took ownership of the task. Realising that I was more than capable of doing something new gave me a moment I was truly proud of.
Growing in Confidence in Volue’s Supportive Culture
One of the reasons I enjoy working at Volue is the shared mindset across the company and our commitment to electrification. Although our roles vary, no one looks down on anyone. You are treated as an equal from day one.
In our Munich office, almost everyone knows each other. We often have lunch together at
midday, gathered around one big table and chatting about anything and everything. These
moments really matter; they make me feel like part of a team, which I truly think we are.
I’ve gained confidence by being trusted to interact directly with candidates and hiring managers,
manage my own tasks, and ask questions whenever I need clarity. It hasn’t been one single
experience that shaped my time here, it’s the combination of everything. Each challenge has
taught me something new, and I can see myself growing week by week.
Considering a Career in Energy?
If I could share one piece of advice with anyone thinking about entering the energy industry, or joining Volue, it would be this: have the courage to try! Before applying, I remember reading the job description and thinking, I am not sure I can do this or I have never done anything like this before. I think I was nervous about even submitting my application!
But you learn. People teach you. They guide and support you and help you grow. Over time, you come to understand the industry and become skilled at what you do. All you need is the willingness to learn, and the bravery to take that first step.
I can’t think of a better place to take my first steps in my career than with Volue.
